We’re looking for a human bean to manage Red Thread’s communication channels, including (but not limited to): social media and blogs, forums and customer support, and press outreach. This position will require participation at events like Gamescom and PAX, along with arranging community events and managing our YouTube and Twitch channels.
To qualify, you must excel at writing and speaking English, and have a relevant track record or higher degree. You need to be intimately familiar with video games, the gaming press and community, and you’ll probably have experience working for a developer or publisher in a community-oriented or marketing/PR role, or as a journalist or editor. Creative writing experience a huge plus, as is a background in photography/videography, video editing, podcasting, blogging or web development/design.
You’ll most likely work remotely, so location is not important, although you’ll need to be available for regular Skype calls and Slack chats in the CET timezone, along with some traveling to Oslo and elsewhere in Europe and the U.S. — a passport and relevant visas required. Native-level proficiency in English required; other languages (German/French/Spanish/Russian/Elvish) a big advantage.
Before applying, please review Red Thread’s social media channels and Kickstarter updates. We’re an informal but professional indie developer with a sense of humour, political and social responsibility: your words will need to reflect our sensibilities.
Submitting writing samples in our “house style” will improve your chances of getting hired, as will an existent social media presence. We expect you to be familiar with our games and track record before a potential interview.
This is a full-time position, salary negotiable, starting as soon as possible. Apply by sending your CV and work examples to email@example.com today.
