The following positions are currently open:
- 3D artist / environment artist
- Technical artist/technical art director (Unity/Unreal)
- Narrative designer (Unity/Unreal)
- Game designer (Unity/Unreal)
- Communications manager
(If there are no open positions in your field(s) of expertise, and you have relevant development skills + experience, we’d still love to hear from you!)
We want to hear from talented, passionate, creative, friendly people — especially if you share our love for storytelling, role-playing and adventure games. Professional experience helps a lot, but we’re willing to take a chance on you if you have a great portfolio, a willingness to learn and a positive attitude.
Our team has development experience from games such as The Longest Journey, Dreamfall, Anarchy Online, Age of Conan, The Secret World, Dreamfall Chapters — and many others. We’re all passionate about our work: we love games, we love telling stories, and we love working together in a collaborative and creative environment where everyone gets to contribute.
Red Thread makes story-driven games for PC and Mac, PlayStation and Xbox, and mobile, and we’re currently working on multiple role-playing and adventure games — both original IPs and licenses.
To get in touch, send us an email. Remember to include the following:
- A link to your website, online portfolio, or to a downloadable portfolio (Dropbox, Box, Google Drive, etc.)
- A cover letter explaining why you want to join the Red Thread team
- Your professional CV or course descriptions
Applications without portfolios or relevant work samples will not be considered. If your application is complete, we’ll get back to you as soon as we can!
COMMON TO ALL POSITIONS
We’re looking for candidates with a high degree of self-motivation and initiative, and a positive attitude — preferably with prior industry experience — along with a relevant university degree and an exceptional portfolio.
You’ll be joining an up-and-coming indie studio working out of a cosy office in downtown Oslo, Norway. We occupy half the floor of a beautiful 130 year old building, with a café and gourmet restaurant downstairs, a bar in the backyard, many grocery stores, lunch bars and coffee houses just minutes away. We’re also within a ten-minute walk from much of what central Oslo has to offer, including all public transportation, malls, museums, parks, restaurants and nightlife — and the forests and fjord are only 20-30 minutes away using public transportation.
We’re looking for people who can fit in with our passionate, experienced and friendly team of artists, designers and developers.
